Course description | This course is designed to help postgraduate students to appreciate the indications for the replacement of missing teeth in the partially dentate patient.
It will help them to review skills and to be able to evaluate the merits of the various types of partial prostheses.
It will also facilitate the provision of removable chrome-cobalt partial dentures and tooth-supported fixed bridgework.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Learning outcomes
¿ To be able to advise a patient with a missing tooth or teeth of the options for treatment.
¿ To be able to provide an appropriate design for a partial denture for the Dental Technician.
¿ To be able to design a fixed prosthesis appropriate for a given clinical situation.
¿ To be able to provide tooth preparations for bridge retainers consistent with the mechanical and biological demands to be placed on the prosthesis.
¿ To know the considerations in assessing a patient for dental implants and to understand the prosthodontic stages of treatment.
