  • Notes: Students who have passed courses to the required value of 240 credits in the first two years, and achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in all required Modern European Language second-year courses for their registered degree, and have met the Linguistics requirements below, are normally entitled to progress to honours.
    Progression to Linguistics Honours requires (1) an *average* of 50% across all obligatory LEL2 courses, achieved on the first sitting, (2) a minimum of 40% in each obligatory LEL2 course, achieved on the first or second sitting.

    At least 30 weeks spent in a relevant country and prescribed work in Linguistics and the relevant language.

The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based. (Papers that for the purposes of degree classification acquire a weighting of 40 credits are, therefore, listed twice.). 1. (German 4 Honours Language Paper 1). 2.
