Course description | This course is for post-beginners with some knowledge of Japanese or students who successfully completed Introductory Japanese 1 in Semester 1. It is not suitable for absolute beginners.
The examination will consist of a two-hour written paper. |

Other requirements | Successful completion of Introductory Japanese 1 in Semester 1 or having equivalent knowledge of Japanese language: at least being able to write and read Hiragana/Katakana. |

IMPORTANT: Students must attend pairs of classes choosing ONE of:
GROUP A: Monday & Tuesday, 14:10-16:00
OR
GROUP B: Monday & Tuesday, 16:10-18:00
OR
GROUP C: Wednesday & Thursday, 16:10-18:00
Any enquiries regarding course enrolment, groups, first meeting, and class venues for each groups etc should be made to the course secretary
Please note: this course will not appear on students' personalised timetable. Group Sign-up sheets will be available on LEARN after the first class meeting. Groups have a limited quota, if a group reaches capacity, you will need to choose another.
Students joining the course after the first class meeting with timetable limitations on the group they can join should contact the course secretary to confirm availability of space in the required group.
The first class meeting will be Monday 13th January at 14:10 in Lecture theatre 2, Appleton Tower.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will further develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They will further develop knowledge of basic grammatical structures and a vocabulary of approximately 1000 high-frequency words and phrases including some basic kanji. |
