| Course description | Indicative course content 
The aim of this module is to introduce and locate Intermedia art practice within contemporary artistic production. Intermedia is the area of artistic invention that lie between media. Although traceable to the early nineteenth century the term is largely associated with a myriad of approaches to visual production post-1945. Performance art, ambient/site specificity, video, and installation all have origins within Intermedia. 
 
Aims of course 
1 To undertake a practical exploration of individual ideas through a range of media. 
2 To explore individual practice in relation to discourses, artwork, and artists within contemporary practice. 
3 To encourage and develop creative practice through group discussion.

Learning Outcomes 
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:  
1. Test and make artwork in a range of different media, using appropriate materials and processes to demonstrate the development of a personal creative language.  
2. Demonstrate an ability to develop individual ideas and concepts appropriate to Intermedia Art, within the context of contemporary practice. 
3. Communicate personal working processes from idea to execution in individual and group situations, demonstrating a broad understanding of the concepts methods and strategies of contemporary practice.  |
