Indicative course content
This course enables students to develop in-depth knowledge and skills appropraite to their chosen discipline. Students work on a series of exercises and projects of differing time-frames and increasing complexity within a studio environment. Students are encouraged to develop an integrated iterative creative process that incorporates making, evaluating, presenting and reflecting.
Course description Various topics will be introduced during the academic year.

Articulate issues within contemporary art studio practice.
Entry Requirements (not applicable to Visiting Students)
Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: ( Studio 2 (Photography) (ARTX08040) AND Research 2 (Photography) (ARTX08041) AND Professional Practice 2 (Photography) (ARTX08042) AND Art 2: Postmodernism and After (ARTX08025))
Co-requisites Students MUST also take: ( Research 3 (Photography) (ARTX09070) AND Professional Practice 3 (Photography) (ARTX09071) AND Art 3: Visual Research (ARTX09046))
Prohibited Combinations Other requirements This course is only available to ECA students on degree programmes belonging to the School of Art.
Additional Costs ECA students are required to pay for the cost of materials used throughout their programme of study.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. EXPLORE: demonstrate the ability to initiate or respond to project briefs and to explore concepts through a structured, transparent and personal methodology.
  2. DEVELOP: select and apply appropriate material development through a transparent iterative process of critical evaluation
  3. RESOLVE: resolve project outcomes through structured and transparent methodologies

Study Abroad Erasmus and International Study Abroad in Year 3 can be applied for.
Additional Class Delivery Information Mixture of one hour group seminars and studio critiques.
