SummaryThis course is for post-beginners with some knowledge of Japanese or students who have successfully completed Introductory Japanese 2 or Foundation Japanese 2. It is not suitable for absolute beginners.
The examination will consist of a two-hour written paper.
Course description W1: Introduction to the course, review of JBP-I: L.1-18
W2: JBP-I: L.19 (travelling, duration of time), L.20 (asking for permission & requests)
W3: JBP-I: L.20 , L.21 (forbidding something)
W4: JBP-I: L.21 , L.22 (talking about current activities)
W5: Class test (L.19-21), JBP-I: L.22
W6: JBP-I:, L,23 (talking about current states)
W7: Class test 1 feedback, JBP-I: L. 24 (skills, likes and dislikes)
W8: JBP-I: L. 25 (wanting to do something)
W9: JBP-I: JBP-II: L.1 (comparison 1), Class test 2 (L22-24)

Pre-requisites It is RECOMMENDED that students have passed ( Foundation Japanese 2 (ASST07011) OR Foundation Japanese 2 (ASST07013) OR Introductory Japanese 2 (ASST07002))

Prohibited Combinations Students MUST NOT also be taking Foundation Japanese 3 (ASST07010)

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Students will further develop basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, to nearly Common European Framework of Reference for Languages level A1 (the lowest).
  2. Some additional basic frequently used kanji are also introduced, following on from those introduced in Foundation Japanese Language 2.
