Notes:
Progression to Year 2 normally requires passes in at least 80 credit points worth of courses in Year 1.

In addition, entry to Year 2 is normally only permitted if the following pre-requisite courses are passed:

- CHEM08028: Chemistry for Chemical Engineers 1A
- CHEM08029: Chemistry for Chemical Engineers 1B
- SCEE08001: Engineering 1 or CHEE08001: Chemical Engineering
- MATH08074: Engineering Mathematics 1a
- MATH08075: Engineering Mathematics 1b.

Year 3 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

Notes:
Progression to Year 3 normally requires passes in at least 100 credit points worth of courses in Year 2. The 100 credit points passed must be from the list of courses given in Year 2 of the Degree Programme Table (DPT) of the student's chosen degree programme.

In addition, entry to Year 3 is normally only permitted if the following pre-requisite courses are passed:

- SCEE08003: Fluid Mechanics 2
- CHEE08014: Process Calculations 2
- CHEE08009: Thermodynamics (Chemical) 2.

Course options

Chemical Engineering (MEng Hons) 4th year

Select exactly 20 credits of the following courses
Notes:
No more than 20 credits of Optional Courses at SCQF level 10 (indicated by a 4 in the course title) may be taken over 4th and 5th year combined, i.e. 120 credits at SCQF level 11 (indicated by a 5 in the course title) must be taken over 4th and 5th year combined.

In addition, a maximum of 20 credits may be taken from the list of Outside Options as detailed in the Year Guide. You may wish to consult your Personal Tutor about your choice of options. There may be timetable constraints which prohibit some combinations of courses.

It cannot be guaranteed that all combinations of courses will be timetable compatible.

Year 5 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

There are no compulsory courses in this year of this programme.

Chemical Engineering Industrial Project 5

Select exactly 60 credits of the following courses
Notes:
The industrial placement runs from June - December, the report is submitted in April.

Inhouse Research Project Option

Notes:
Selection must include Research Project. Whilst Group Design Project preferences will be sought, final allocation will be made by Director of Teaching to ensure balance across disciplines.
AND

Chemical Engineering (MEng) 5th year Options

Select exactly 60 credits of the following courses
Notes:
