All first year students should make an appointment with their Personal Tutor during Fresher Week period. Please consider the following courses, and take a draft plan to your meeting.

Greek World and Roman World Courses

Select exactly 40 credits of the following courses
Notes:

1. 20 credits should be taken in Semester 1 and 20 credits in Semester 2.
2. It is recommended students take the two 'Roman World' courses.

Latin 1A and Latin 1B

Year 3 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

Notes:
Entry into the third year normally requires:
(i) passes in 240 credits of courses taken in the first two years
(ii) a mark of 50% or above, at first attempt, in Roman Art and Archaeology and Greek Art and Archaeology, and
(iii) passes at 50% or above, at first attempt, in Latin 2A and Latin 2B or in Latin 2a Ex-Beginners and Latin 2B .

Entry to honours in Classics remains at the discretion of the Head of Classics in the light of performance across all courses.

1. Latin Language (B) MUST be taken if Latin Language (A) was not completed in Year 3, unless exemption has been given by the Head of Classics.
2. Latin Language (B) cannot be taken if Latin Language (A) has already been studied in Year 3.
