Notes:
Students wishing to pursue qualification to progress towards legal practice in Scotland should note the courses required as indicated in the Degree Programme Table for the LLB Honours (years 1 and 2).

They should also note that the availability of Ordinary courses additional to the core curriculum in the 3rd year may be limited by the prescription of 'Analytical Perspectives in Social Policy SCPL10024' in that year. As it cannot be guaranteed that an Ordinary course required by a student for qualification for progression towards legal practice will not have a lecture slot simultaneous with one for Analytical Perspectives in Social Policy it cannot be guaranteed that a curriculum enabling progress towards professional qualification on this programme will be possible.

Notes:
Students wishing to progress towards legal practice should note that passes in the following courses are required to qualify as a solicitor in Scotland: 'Commercial Law (Ordinary) LAWS08131', 'Business Entities LAWS08134', 'Public Law and Individual Rights LAWS08132', 'Evidence (Ordinary) LAWS08141', 'Delict LAWS08135', 'Criminal Law (Ordinary) LAWS08142'; 'Property Law (Ordinary) LAWS08133', and 'Succession and Trust Law LAWS08130'. All 80 credits of optional courses can therefore be drawn from Law Level 8 courses.

Year 3 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

Notes:
Students may substitute Health Policy Analysis and Globalisation and Public Health for one 20 credit Social Policy Honours course.

Please note: To progress to Honours in Social Policy, students must have achieved marks of 50% or better at the first attempt in their required Social Policy subjects in 2nd year.

Students who opt to spend their third year abroad will be expected to do the equivalent of 120 credits. All students who spend their third year abroad must also take the compulsory course 'Advanced Legal Writing (Online) LAWS10214'.

Notes:
Students may substitute Health Policy Analysis and Globalisation and Public Health for one 20 credit Social Policy Honours course.

Students who opt to spend their third year abroad will be expected to do the equivalent of 120 credits in year 3. In addition, they will be expected to take a 40 credit taught law course instead of the 'Dissertation in Law LAWS10097' and 80 Social Policy credits in year 4.
