As an alternative to the mathematics courses, students may take the School of Mathematics courses prescribed for the Year 1 programme of the Theoretical Physics BSc degree.

Notes:
Composition 1 is available to students with Higher or A Level Music, or equivalent.

A pass in one of these courses is compulsory for progression to Year 2.

Notes:
Passes in two of these courses are compulsory for progression to Year 3.

Progression to third year requires passes in all second year specified compulsory courses. This is in addition to the general progression requirement.

Select between 30 and 50 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Students taking a Senior Honours project in Physics are recommended to follow PHYS10096 (Relativity, Nuclear and Particle Physics) and PHYS10099 (Introduction to Condensed Matter Physics). Note that this combination of courses also satisifies the accreditation requirements of the Institute of Physics.

Physics and Music Senior Honours Projects

Music Level 10 and 11 courses

Select between 20 and 40 credits from Music Level 10 and 11 courses
Notes:
MUSI11047 (Acoustics) is a suitable choice for Physics and Music students. Despite the 'postgraduates only' label, the course organiser will permit Physics and Music students to follow this course.
