Cognitive Science (Humanities) (MA Hons) - Level 8

Select exactly 80 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Students must select 60 credits for breadth, sampling from 3 out of the 4 subject areas (Philosophy, Psychology, LEL, and Informatics). In addition students must take another 20 credits in 1 of their 3 breadth subject areas. Note also that INF2 - Introduction to Algorithms and Data Structures in year 2 will require the student to have done sufficient Informatics coursework in year 1; see handbook for sample pathways.

Level 7 and 8 courses in Schedules A-Q, T, W and Y

Notes:
It is recommended that students take another 20 credits of PPLS or Informatics year 2 courses, on an as-needed basis for prerequisites to Honours courses of interest.

Year 3 Academic year: 2020/21, Starting in: August

Notes:
Progression to Honours requires:
A pass at 40% in Research Methods and Statistics at the FIRST ATTEMPT.
An average of 50%, achieved at first attempt, across year 2 courses taken for degree and (2) a minimum of 40%, achieved at the first attempt, in those courses.

Students must take at least 20 credits from at least 3 out of the 4 subject areas (Philosophy, Psychology, LEL, Informatics) at some point during years 3 and 4 combined. The expectation is that these courses will be in the subject areas that the student studied in year 2.

There are no compulsory courses in this year of this programme.
