Dissertation (GIMBA) (P01025)

A dissertation of 10,000-15,000 words on a topic in Innovation, Technology or Global Business Development, and management issues related to these topics.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : A pass in "Management Development 1: Personal Effectiveness and Learning Technology" (P00997) and "Management Development 2: Leadership and Practical Skills" (P00999) plus 10 other courses offered in the GIMAB Programme. Of these, a minimum of 4 must be Fundamentals of Management courses, and a minimum of 4 must be Specialist Options courses.

? Costs : Most costs are included in the programme fee, though some communication costs will be borne by the students

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Broadly similar in output as the existing Edinburgh MBA dissertation component.
Comprises an in-depth understanding of the topic and literature appropriate to it.
The ability to frame a research question, to condut the necessary analysis, and to develope an appropriate framework for answering the stated research quesitons.
The Research Methods e-course (p00998) of 100 hours learning effort, will run in parallel with the students' project work.
