    Year 2, Academic year 2011/12, Starting month: August

  • Notes: Second-year students who achieve an average of 50% or above in the May examination diet, and who have passed all first and second year courses by the end of the August diet of their second year, will be admitted to Junior Honours and will normally continue into the fourth Senior Honours year.

    Students who do not achieve an average mark of 50% in the May diet, or who are carrying one or more courses from First or Second Year after the August diet, will be admitted to Third Year and will graduate with a BMus Ordinary degree once they satisfy the requirements for that degree.*

    *Please note that there will no longer be an opportunity to transfer into Senior Honours at the end of the Third Ordinary year.

    Year 3, Academic year 2011/12, Starting month: August

  • Notes: From the 2011-12 session onwards, second-year students who achieve an average of 50% or above in the May examination diet, and who have passed all first and second year courses by the end of the August diet of their second year, will be admitted to Junior Honours and will normally continue into the fourth Senior Honours year.

    Students who do not achieve an average mark of 50% in the May diet, or who are carrying one or more courses from First or Second Year after the August diet, will be admitted to Third Year and will graduate with a BMus Ordinary degree once they satisfy the requirements for that degree. It will not be possible for such students to progress to Senior Honours at the end of Third Year.

    This does not apply to students registered as Third-year Ordinary students in the 2011-12 session. They will have the opportunity to continue into Fourth Year Senior Honours provided they obtain a pass mark of at least 40% in all subjects in the May 2012 examination diet and have passed any outstanding First and Second Year courses by this diet.
