Notes:Although Logic 1 is not a compulsory course it is strongly recommended, particularly for students who think that they might go on to study philosophy at postgraduate level. It is also a prerequisite for some honours-level philosophy courses. If you choose not to take Logic 1 this year you will have the option to take it in your second year.

  • Notes: Progression to Honours requires (1) an *average* of 50% across both the mandatory Philosophy courses standardly taken in the second year, Mind, Matter and Language (MML) and Knowledge and Reality (K&R) achieved at the first attempt, and (2) a minimum of 40% in each course (MML and K&R) achieved at the first attempt; also required, a pass at 50% or above at the first attempt in Psychology 2, and a pass in the combined mark of the statistics components of the Psychology 2 exams.
