Sustainable Development Pathway courses

Select exactly 40 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Please choose 40 credits from the Subject Area on which you wish to focus your studies. This will serve as your MAIN SUBJECT PATHWAY. Take your choices from Politics and International Relations; or Social Anthropology; or Sociology; or Geography.

You must also sign up for the Fundamentals courses for your pathway (non-credit bearing courses that run in each semester). There are no Fundamentals courses on the Geography pathway in first year.

Students on the Politics and International Relations pathway may take International Law (LAWS08114) in either first or second year.
AND

Level 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, T and W

Select exactly 40 credits from Level 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, T and W

See Appendix 2 in the Sustainable Development Programme handbook for recommended year 1 outside courses.

Year 2 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

Notes:
Entry to third year normally requires successful completion of the first two years of the curriculum. Students must also normally achieve 50% or more in their first attempt in their second year sustainable development courses and in all required second year courses for their main subject area.

Students who are planning on spending their third year studying abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their Junior Year Abroad (JYA).

Notes: Please choose 40 credits from the MAIN SUBJECT PATHWAY that you focused your studies on during year 1. You must also sign up for the Fundamentals courses for your pathway (non-credit bearing courses that run in each semester). If following the POLITICS AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS pathway, you can choose between Comparative Politics in a Globalized World (PLIT08008) and Introduction to Political Data Analysis (PLIT08009) in second semester, although you can take both if you wish. If following the Geography pathway, you MUST select Fundamental Methods in Geography (GEGR08009), plus two more Geography courses from the box below.

Students can choose an additional Sustainable Development course in fourth year, in place of a Pathway course, if relevant for their dissertation or for other special reason. To do so, they need to contact the Degree Programme Director for permission.
