During 3rd year, when permitted, at least 30 weeks of approved residence must be spent in a relevant country. During sessions when this is not permitted students will be offered an alternative means of engagement.
To continue without the need for an extension to the total period of study, a full-time student must attain a minimum of 360 credit points by the end of Year 3.
As Chinese Year Abroad 3 credits are not awarded until during Year 4, any students wishing to leave at the end of Year 3 would only be eligible for a Diploma in Higher Education after completing Year 3. We strongly recommend contacting your Student Adviser or the Programme Director if you wish to discuss this further.
Please note: Students who take the option of ASST09002 Chinese Special Subject 3 cannot change to the HIAR10006 Dissertation (History of Art and Combined Degrees) in 4th year, but must take ASST10081 Chinese Special Subject 4.
For students that are accepted on History of Art Work Placement (HIAR10157), this can replace Analysing Art History: Texts, Objects, Institutions, Part Two (HIAR10170) in semester 2.
