DEGREE REGULATIONS & PROGRAMMES OF STUDY 2017/2018

Before selecting your outside courses, please ensure you have met your Personal Tutor.

Entry into Honours:
(1) students must pass courses to the required value of 240 credits in the first two years;
(2) students must achieve 50% or more in 40 credits of second year History courses at the first attempt;
(3) students must achieve at least 50% overall in the relevant second-year language course(s), including at least 50% in the language component of that course, at the first attempt.

All courses (including outside subjects) must be passed before embarking on the year abroad, an outside course passed at Resit in August will be acceptable.

At least 30 weeks spent in the relevant country and prescribed work in History and the relevant language in an approved establishment.

Final Assessment: One unit of assessment is allocated to every 20 credits and constitutes one 20-credit paper. The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based. (Papers that for the purposes of degree classification acquire a weighting of 40 credits are, therefore, listed twice.).
1. Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Language Paper 1.
2. Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Language Paper 1.
3. Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Language Paper 2.
4. Scandinavian Studies Oral.
5. Year abroad work for degrees in Scandinavian Studies & History.
6. Year abroad work for degrees in Scandinavian Studies & History.
7. MEL Dissertation Preparation (same mark as 8) OR MEL Year Abroad Assessment.
8. MEL Dissertation Completion OR MEL Long Essay.
9. Honours course option in Scandinavian Studies.
10. Course in History
11. Course in History.
12. Course in History (same mark as 11).
