There are no compulsory courses in Year 3.
You may take Year 3 courses from Philosophy, Psychology, Language Sciences, and Informatics.
You may divide your course credits as you wish, provided that across Years 3 and 4 combined, you take at least 20 credits of Honours courses in three of the four subject areas: Philosophy, Psychology, Language Sciences, Informatics. It is expected that you will choose courses in the subject areas you studied in Year 2.
Preparing for Dissertations in Year 4:
- If you are planning to undertake a Philosophy dissertation in Year 4, you must take the 0-credit Philosophy Dissertation Information course in Year 3.
- If you are considering a Psychology dissertation involving ADVANCED statistical methods and plan to take quantitatively demanding Honours Psychology courses, you must take Data Analysis for Psychology in R 3 (DAPR3). DAPR3 has DAPR2 as a prerequisite, and you will normally only be advised to follow this path if you have taken and passed DAPR2 at the FIRST ATTEMPT.
- If you are considering a Psychology dissertation involving BASIC statistical methods, and plan to take moderately quantitative Honours Psychology courses, you must have taken at least DAPR1, and are recommended to have passed DAPR2.
- If you are considering a Language Sciences dissertation you must take at least one course in the 'Skills' group of LEL Honours courses in Year 3. The LEL Honours handbook provides full details on which courses belong to which category.
