Notes:
Level 7 language courses cannot be taken for credits on this degree programme.

Year 2 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:
Entry into Honours:
(1) Students must pass courses to the required value of 240 credits in the first two years.
(2) Students must achieve 50% or more at first attempt in the German 2 Language course.
(3) Students must achieve an average mark of at least 50% at first attempt across the two required 10-credit courses in the German Year 2 Literature and Culture course collection.
(4) Students must achieve 50% or more in one second year business course.
(5) All courses (including outside subjects) must be passed before embarking on the year abroad, an outside course passed at Resit in August will be acceptable.

Students may wish to note that BUST08033 Business Reseach Methods I: Introduction to Data Analysis is a compulsory course for Business Studies degree programmes

Notes:
Politics and Institutions of Contemporary France is only available to students who have passed French 1A or French 1B.
Scandinavian Languages 2 is available to students who have taken a Scandinavian Studies language in year one.
For LEL2 courses students must have passed: Linguistics and English Language 1 or A Brief Introduction to Language.

Year 3 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:
During 3rd year: At least 30 weeks must be spent in the relevant country and prescribed work completed in Business Studies and the relevant language in an approved establishment.

Final Assessment:

One unit of assessment is allocated to every 20 credits and constitutes one 20-credit paper. The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based.

1. German Language Paper 1 (10 credits from Language acquisition and 10 from Y4 LP1 course)
2. German Language Paper 2 (10 credits from Language acquisition and 10 from Y4 LP2 course)
3. Oral for German (taught and assessed in Y4)
4. German Online Language Course for Year Abroad Students
5. Business Studies Long Essay
6. Business Studies Long Essay
7. MEL Year Abroad work OR MEL Dissertation Preparation (see 8)
8. MEL Long Essay OR MEL Dissertation Completion (Papers 7 & 8 are a combined grade 10% from preparation and 90% from final dissertation preparation. Credits cannot be awarded for Dissertation preparation unless the full 2 year course is completed.)
