Year 1 Academic year: 2024/25, Starting in: September

Notes:
This programme allows students to follow a 'track specific' route of study. It is intermittent, which means students have up to 2 years to complete the Certificate credits, 4 years to complete the Diploma credits and 6 years to complete the MVetSci.

All students must complete the two compulsory courses (VESC11109 and VESC11204), plus ONE of the 'Standard Diagnostic Testing ...' courses, depending on the track followed.

MVetSci students must complete either a dissertation or select an additional 60 credits from the Advanced Clinical Practice Elective Courses collection. Students undertaking the dissertation element MUST have completed the Research Methods & Data Analysis (A) course (VESC11235) course prior to commencement.

You will be notified by email announcement at the times during the year when you should consider your electives. Electives should be chosen to fit with the appropriate 'track' of study. For guidance on track specific electives, please email Sharon.Boyd@ed.ac.uk.

Notes:
All students must complete ONE of the 'Standard Diagnostic Testing ...' courses, depending on the track followed.

Certificate students must complete an additional 30 credits from the list below by the end of Year 2,

MVetSci students who do not wish to complete the dissertation element must complete a further 60 credits from this list by the end of Year 6. Those who wish to complete the dissertation element MUST complete the Research Methods & Data Analysis (A) course (VESC11235) from the list below prior to commencement.

VESC11105 Gastroenterology is available to students studying at Diploma or MVetSci level only
