DPT: Advanced Clinical Practice (PgCert) (Online Learning) (ICL)

Year 1 Academic year: 2026/27, Starting in: September

This programme allows students to tailor the programme to their interests. It is intermittent, which means students have up to 2 years to complete the Certificate credits.

All students must complete the two compulsory courses (VESC11109 and VESC11204), plus ONE of the 'Standard Diagnostic Testing ...' courses.

You will be notified by email announcement at the times during the year when you should consider your electives. Please email Sharon.Boyd@ed.ac.uk if you wish to discuss elective choices.

Course options

All students must complete the following 20 credits of courses by the end of Year 2.

Professional and Clinical Skills for Advanced Veterinary Practice

Evidence Based Veterinary Medicine in Clinical Practice

AND

All students must complete ONE of the 'Standard Diagnostic Testing ...' courses.

Certificate students must complete an additional 30 credits from the list below by the end of Year 2,

VESC11105 Gastroenterology and VESC11284 Advances in Small Animal Chronic Enteropathy are not available to students studying at Certificate level
